Emergency Medical Responder (BLS) Upgrade (Bridge Course)
Red Cross First Responder to Emergency Medical Responder Bridge Course for those in possession of a valid First Responder (or Advanced Medical First Responder) certification. Meets the Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profile for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR).
WE ARE ABLE TO UPGRADE ONLY UNEXPIRED FIRST RESPONDER AND ADVANCED MEDICAL FIRST RESPONDER CERTIFICATIONS. WE WILL NOT REFUND THOSE WHO REGISTER AND ARE UNABLE TO SHOW A VALID, UNEXPIRED CARD.
Prerequisite: Unexpired First Responder card (or Advanced Medical First Responder)
Completion:
- Successfully demonstrate the required skills
- Minimum 75% mark for written, closed book, knowledge evaluation
- Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios (one medical and one trauma)
- Attend and participate in 100% of the course
Certification:
3-year certification in Emergency Medical Responder with CPR BLS (digital certificate issued upon successful completion)
Course Duration: 40 hours
